The statements therein recorded were not obtained from any. book, but from my personal intercourse with, and close examination of several Hakims who are here renowned for their learning and practice. Regarding them, I have not referred to my book for an opinion, but have detailed what I have actually seen of, and learned from, them. Baboo Cheytun Shah has pointed to Tih-i-Akbar as an authority for the independent origin of bronchitis. The means of knowledge at their disposal may be ample, and the foundation of that knowledge perfectly true, but their ignorance notwithstanding appears to be complete. All published distributional data on recent benthic foraminifera of the North American Atlantic continental margin were archived into computerized catalogs. Cluster analysis of these data delimited seven large, marginally overlapping provinces exhibiting a congruous relationship with western North Atlantic water masses.
